Beyond the Runway: How a Special Request Became the 'Chloé' Maxi Dress

As an indie designer based in the heart of Istanbul, my greatest joy comes from transforming a client's vision into a wearable piece of art. Every project is special, but some stories are simply too inspiring not to share. This is one of them.

Several weeks ago, I was contacted by Ms. Esteen Hootman, the manager and mother of the incredibly talented young teen model, Chloé Hootman (you absolutely must check out her Instagram @chootman2018). They were preparing for an upcoming fashion show and were in search of a unique, standout piece.

The brief was clear yet beautifully open to interpretation: they were drawn to a specific, vibrant 'Red'tone from my fabric catalog. They wanted something that was both age-appropriate for a young star yet carried the elegance and drama befitting a runway. I was immediately captivated by the opportunity to design for Chloé, whose portfolio already showcases a remarkable presence for her age.

The creative process began instantly. I envisioned a dress that would not just clothe her, but celebrateher. A design that would flow with movement, capture the light, and most importantly, make its wearer feel confident and radiant. I sketched, draped, and poured that vision into every stitch.

The result is a design I am profoundly proud of: a custom Maxi Dress in that stunning, bold red. In a gesture I found deeply humbling, Chloé and her mother loved the design so much that they agreed to let me name it after her. And so, the 'Chloé' Maxi Dress was born.

Working under tight deadlines is a hallmark of indie design, and this project was no exception. We believe in making the impossible possible, delivering high-quality, custom-measured garments without ever compromising on the integrity of the fabric or the design. This dress is a testament to that commitment.
